The Three most popular roulette betting systems

Those that have gained some experience playing roulette invariably love to use one or the other betting system. These betting systems are extremely popular and have ensured huge wins for many players.

The Martingale System
The Martingale System is highly popular among roulette players. This system is extremely simple to employ. Here the bet amount is doubled after every loss. In the event of a win the original bet amount is used again. If someone starts with an even money bet $1 and loses then the next bet is $2. Another loss means the next bet needs to be $4. This is how the sequence progresses. Till this point the total loss is $7 and the next bet is $8. A win now means the player wins $1.

The problem with this system is that it can empty a player’s bankroll pretty fast. Also, one may reach a point where they reach the maximum table limit.

The D’Alembert System
The D’Alembert System is also very simple to employ. It closely resembles the Martingale System in terms of strategy but is less risky. To employ this system a player first needs to decide the unit of increment or decrement. Here also bets are increased after losses and decreased after a win.

In the Martingale System the bet amount is doubled after a loss but in the D’Alembert System this may not be so. So, someone may decide to start with $1 and choose their unit as $1. In the case of a loss with a $1 bet the next bet will be $2. Another loss and the next bet will be $3. In the case of a win now the next bet will be $2.

The Contra- D’Alembert System is exactly opposite of this system.

The Labouchére System
The Labouchére System is slightly more difficult to grasp right in the beginning. Here the initial betting amount is decided and a string of numbers is written down to achieve a certain win amount.

So, someone may start with the sequence 1-2-3-4-5. The first bet amount will be the sum of the first and the last numbers of the sequence, $6 in this case. For a win these numbers are crossed out and the next bet is $6. For a loss $7 is added to the sequence which is now 2-3-4-5-7. The bet amount is $9. Here also bankroll or maximum table limitations may be an issue.
